No two worksites are ever the same. We never go unprepared.
Mr. Y. T.
Mr. Y.T, who was born and raised in Innoshima, has a background as a carpenter and residential design. As a team leader, he is responsible for a wide range of projects, including repairs in shipbuilding docks, installation and maintenance of crane traveling rails, and the fabrication and installation of large structural base plates.
In large-scale assembly block projects that can last up to two years, he works with dozens of partner company staff in addition to his own team. He is actively involved with the operations on the ground while overseeing the entire project.
“There are no two worksites alike in the shipyard,” he says.
He meets deadlines and quality standards while keeping safety as his top priority. His responsibilities include coordinating with clients, securing personnel, procuring materials and equipment, and arranging heavy machinery such as excavators. He emphasizes the importance of always thinking ahead and being prepared for the unexpected.
What is your favorite place in Innoshima?
My favorite place is the office break room. After stepping away from the worksite, where I need to be focused at all times, I can let my hair down to chat and laugh with my colleagues. This relaxed atmosphere gives me the energy to take on the next day of work.
