Our Role
We are a company
that maintains the foundations of the shipyard
and its environment to ensure
the continued production of large-scale vessels.
Takamatsu Kensetsu is dedicated to maintaining the core infrastructure of the shipyard and preserving an environment that allows for the safe construction of ships. To build and repair ships, shipyards need specialized infrastructure like giant docks, construction sheds, assembly slabs and cranes. Takamatsu Kensetsu work behind the scenes, maintaining and managing shipyard facilities to ensure this vast infrastructure (that differs in scale and use compared to conventional construction) works properly, allowing the shipyard to construct ships safely and on time.
"Don't Stop the Shipyard"
Ensuring safety, maintenance
and extended operational life.
In shipbuilding, there is no room for even a single day of delay. We work to avoid equipment failures in the shipyard, improve productivity, improve the operational life of equipment and ensure the safety of shipyard workers. To achieve this, we carefully manage our processes and go about our work meticulously.
Main Responsibilities
Crane Rails and Foundations - New Installation/Repair
The rails supporting the cranes that lift the ship hull blocks are under constant duress and require increased durability. Using welding and gas cutting techniques, we both repair and install new high-strength rails and foundations.
Building Keel Blocks
These are support blocks used during shipbuilding or repairs to prop up the hull, much like a mattress on a bed. Using a combination of reinforced concrete and both hard and soft woods, we craft the blocks to fit perfectly to shape of each ship's hull.
Building Assembly Slabs
Assembly slabs are essential for the precise construction of ship hull blocks. To ensure the blocks are positioned and secured with precision and to guarantee the required level surface, we use concrete and other highly rigid materials and work within a margin of error measured in millimeters.
Dock Repairs
If any damage is found in the reinforced concrete dock, we conduct surveys and assessments and make quick, careful repairs. This ensures the dock is in a safe condition for workers to continue ship construction, repairs, maintenance and inspection work.
